Different Type of Wigs

Many years ago, wigs were worn to hide baldness and illness. In today's society, wigs are worn because they are convenient and it gives us ladies the opportunity to change our styles as often as we desire. Need I say more! Wigs have come a long way and are made in a variety of styles with different cap options. Allowing for them to be used on occasion or for everyday wear.

I myself am wiggy and I love it. The options are endless and fun. I enjoy playing around from short to long, curly to straight. My favorite type is human hair lace front. Give it a try you will love it as well. Continue reading and you can find the best fit for you. Enjoy!

 SYNTHETIC WIGS

Synthetics wigs are one of the most popular style wigs made. These machined made wigs are crafted with high quality man-made fibers and are colored and style before hand to create the look of natural hair. Synthetic wigs have caps in the inside, are very manageable, and are less expensive then human hair wigs.

HUMAN HAIR WIGS

Versatility is what you get from human hair wigs. Many people who wear them desire a real natural look and feel. Because the wigs are made of natural hair, you have the option to shampoo, relaxed, color and curl the hair. Human hair wigs do cost more than synthetic hair but they last much longer with the proper care.

LACE WIGS

There are two types of lace wigs, full lace and frontal lace. The lace material is thin and undetectable. It serves as the scalp and closely resembles natural skin when attached too the head.  A full lace wig has lace throughout the whole wig which gives you the option to part the hair anywhere. Whereas a lace front only has lace in the frontal section about three to four inches back depending on the particular brand. This allows you to part the hair in the front, middle, and sides. The majority of the lace wigs are made from human hair, but you can find high quality synthetic ones as well. Lace wigs are higher in price and have more versatile then any wig on the market. This is usually why you see a lot of celebrities rocking this look.

MONOFILAMENT

Do you want the illusion of hair growing out the scalp? If so, this wig is for you. Monofilament wig has a cap that uses thin material that is light and breathable on the head. Because of the hand tied hairs, you are capable of parting, styling and combing the hair in any direction. Monofilament comes in human and synthetic hair as well.

Wigs

If you are new to wigs or wear them on a daily basis, you know that there are a lot of key components in chosen the right one. Lets face it ladies sometimes this can be a bit overwhelming. In today's society wigs have become a huge part in our everyday lives from fashion, entertainers and parties They are no longer used for Halloween, dress up and clowns.

Wigs are made from several different types of material such as; horsehair, buffalo hair, and wool. The most common material is human hair and synthetic materials. Continue reading and you will have the all access guide on everything that makes wigs beautiful.

Synthetic Hair
These wigs are the cheaper of the bunch. The hair strands are made of acrylic fibers. You know that saying, "You get what you pay for." It usually works that way with synthetic hair. Most of the wigs come prestyled and are not heat resistant. High end synthetic wig manufactures have begun to use protein-based synthetic strands. This allows for the use of heating tools such as flat irons and curling iron.

Human Hair
Human hair wigs can be treated as your normal hair. You can shampoo, color and heat style. Many human hair hair wigs are virgin (hair that has not been processed), which allows you to customize the hair to your liking.

Machine Tied
Machine tied are based on strands that have been woven together with thread in an automated process.

Hand Tied
Usually are more natural and give the illusion that hair is growing from the scalp. Most hand tied wigs are made with human hair. The cap constructions feature a mesh that may be one piece or separate sections of mesh sewn together. The lace that you see in a full lace and lace front is the mesh.

Thin Sink and Monofilament
Thin skin is used in machine tied wigs to give the appearance of a natural scalp part. Monofilament is a nylon mesh piece with hand tied hairs that is added to some machine tied wigs. This process offers flexible, natural looking parts.

For starters, I am not a breakfast person and never will be. So I began to incorporate smoothies into my routine. It easier to digest and you stay fuller much longer. I drink one for breakfast and have another for lunch. In between meals, I drink as much water as possible. For dinner I have a lean protein, vegetables and some fiber.
Every girl loves a good smoothie. What is your favorite smoothie flavors? Sound off below let's talk about it.

Strawberry Kiwi Banana Smoothie
1/2 c. strawberries

Don't worry you don't taste the spinach.

What is beauty?

What is beauty? How do we define it? Is there a way to define beautiful? We try to determine what beauty is and how we perceive it. Because the factors that determine what beauty is are always evolving it is difficult to determine beauty. The media has a huge influence on what determines how one is beautiful. This is why you see very thin women around the world. This isn't always the way to go because there are countries where being slightly heavy or obese is consider gorgeous. It's because of reasons like this why we cannot define beauty objectively and we keep looking for answers on how to be flawless.

Because there is no one factor that defines beauty, is it difficult to answer the question. What is beauty? Weigh in and let me know what you think.

Beauty Tips

Cleanse and moisturize your skin daily, this will help you by removing your dead skin and giving you a fresh look. In addition, be sure you're drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water every day to ensure your skin and body stays hydrated.

Diabetes

I am a very upfront and honest person. As I open up and let you in on my journey,  I ask that everyone keep an open mind.  I wasn't sure if I would discuss this topic because to some people this is a really sensitive subject and to others it really doesn't matter. To be honest, everyone should take this matter seriously because it has affected someone close to you one way or another. What am I talking about you ask? It is diabetes.

I received a phone call the other day from my doctor. Usually when I have blood work done the office calls whether or not the news is good or bad. I didn't think much of it when I answered the phone. My physician identified herself and then she broke the news to me. My doctor stated, "your kidneys and liver are functioning normal but your sugar levels are high". My answer, "What does this mean"? She broke it down to me. I have what you call pre-diabetes. This is still as dangerous as type 1 and type 2. At this point, I don't need insulin or medicine to keep it in tact.  My doctor and I agree upon getting my number lower within six months. What do I plan to do? I'm going to start with baby steps. Exercise more, drinking plenty of water, and changing my eating habits. This is my goal moving forward and I would like to bring you all along as I begin my journey. I am here to support you all and be a voice and vice versa. My goal is to get myself back on track and help others along the way. Wish me luck. :) Please feel free to view  the information  below.

As you may know, you don't have to be obese or overweight to have this disease. Diabetes is the condition in which the body, does not properly process food for use as energy. The food we eat is turned into glucose (sugar) that our body uses for energy. The pancreas makes a hormone called insulin to help the glucose get into the cells of our bodies. When you have diabetes your body can't make enough insulin or can't use its own insulin as well. This cause sugar to build up in your blood.
Diabetes can cause serious health complications including heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, and lower extremity amputations.

Symptoms
Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Tiredness
Very dry skin
Tingling in hands and feet
Sudden vision change
Unexplained weight loss

Type 1 Diabetes
Usually diagnosed in children and young adults. In type 1, the body doesn't produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches, and other foods into energy.

Type 2 Diabetes
This is the most common form of diabetes. Many people are unaware they are at high risk. Type 2 is common in Latinos, African American, Native Americans, and Asian Americans. In type 2 diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin. When glucose builds up in the blood instead of going into cells, it ca lead to diabetes complications.

I hope everyone takes this information into consideration and spread the word.

Thanks

What Causes Under Eye Circles and Darkness

Many women suffer from circles and darkness under the eye. This is really a common problem in black women. Dark circles under the eyes tend to be a genetic issue and unavoidable if dark circles run in your family. The first sign of fatigue is dark circles. The under eye is thin, with a membrane that runs between a fatty layer and the outer layer of skin we see. The first sign the body show it needs water is the eyes. Over consumption of sugar, drinking liquor and caffeine causes dehydration. Diet can also impact your face to especially if you have food allergies. Don't forget that the sulfites in wine can cause havoc on the skin under the eyes.

What is the easiest solution? Drinking lots of water and getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep.
Remeber ladies, you might be able to vanish under eye circles and darkness from within by taking care of your health.

Other Tips:
  • Apply moisturizer
  • Makeup primer
  • Concealer

My Fav: Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer

This is one of my favorite items. I always make sure I have this in stock. I have been enjoying this product for the last two years. There isn't a day when I don't use it. It absorbs into your skin leaving it feeling very soft.  Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. This moisturizer brightens up your skins, reduced blotchiness, and minimize the look of dark spots. Remember ladies after you cleanse your face, it is a must to moisture. This is the key element of keeping your skin looking healthy, fresh and young. You can also try the full line Neutrogena Visibly Even products.
In the hair industry today, there are many journeys. Lately many black women have been transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. Are you apart of this movement? Well I know I am. I got inspired by other ladies who went natural. Let me tell you natural hair is more fuller, vibrant and healthier.

Back in December I took a huge leap and chopped off all but an inch and a half of my hair. I did this to make sure all of the chemicals were completely out of my hair. Parts of my hair had slight damage due to coloring and relaxing. We all know how that goes, lol. Four months later and my hair is now eight inches longer. What did I do? My regimen consists of olive oil and leave in conditioner. Every two weeks I shampoo my hair. Most of all at night I wrap my hair and sleep in a satin cap. Satin caps are the key of locking in the moisture. If at all possible ladies do not sleep with a cotton cap or a scarve that is hard. This will only dry out your hair.  During the days, my hair is wrap and I wear wigs. Mainly to protect the hair in the beginning stages of my transition. Remember what works for me might not work for you.

Until next time...

Tiffany

Welcome to Simply Sexy

Hello to you all. Welcome to Simply Sexy. The new fun and creative hair blog. I am here to entertain and inform you about what's going on in the hair industry today. Not only will I talk about hair, but you will get the latest beauty and accessories tips. Sit back and enjoy and thanks again for stopping by.

As of lately, I have noticed a lot of my sistas have been transitioning from relaxed hair to natural. This process can take six months to a year to finish. I say this because some ladies may start from scratch and chop everything off but an inch or two. Others will let the chemicals slowly grow out.
I'm all for any style. Hair is a form of creativity I like to use my own hair as a blank canvas and style away. I have rocked short, sassy, long, curly and straight. My favorite style is curly and big like the queen herself Diana Ross. On that note, I would like for all you ladies to embrace your hair no matter how long, short, kinky and relaxed have fun with it. Until next time.....
